Grants and Funding - Venture Capital

Venture Capital institutions typically do not consider investments of less than £1 million, with many not considering investment of less than £5 million. This is due to two main factors:

The high cost of each deal including due diligence;
The need to impact on the Venture Capitalist portfolio performance (small deals tend not to generate this return).

The South East Growth Fund

A £30 million Venture Capital fund committed to investing in small and medium enterprises in South East England. The exact geographical area that they cover can be found in their Investment Criteria section.

Apax Partners

A global private equity group that invests in five industry sectors. Funds advised by Apax Partners typically invest in companies with a value of between €1bn and €5bn.

ARCH Venture Partners

ARCH invests in the development of seed and early stage technology companies that have the potential to grow rapidly into successful businesses. British Venture Capital Association

The industry body for the UK private equity and venture capital industry with over 23 years experience in representing the industry to government, the European Commission and Parliament, the media, regulatory and other statutory bodies at home, across Europe and around the world. Membership of over 370 firms presents the overwhelming number of UK-based private equity and venture capital providers and their advisers.
