The coastal climate is mild, with fantastic morning and evening light enhancing the area’s natural beauty.

People live here and visit for the healthy natural environment as well as the peace and tranquility, which provide a welcome change from the noise, pollution and congestion of England’s cities.

The Hastings area is a wonderful place to enjoy life outdoors, with plenty of opportunities for active pursuits from cycling and walking to sailing and kite-surfing. There’s also an abundance of high quality golf courses.

Bexhill has Egerton Park, offering peace and relaxation as well as a boating lake, tennis courts, putting green, indoor bowling centre and kids’ adventure playground.

Hastings has the stunning Victorian Alexandra Park and Hastings Country Park - 267 hectares of ancient woodland, heath and grassland plus 5km of dramatic cliffs and coast.

In the green space between Hastings and Bexhill, Pebsham Countryside Park is being created as a 600 hectare haven for nature conservation and wildlife.

Beyond the towns are a great many more wonderful open spaces including South Saxons Wetlands, Seven Sisters Country Park, Beachy Head, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Great Dixter House and Gardens.
