Stevens Rowsell reach award finals

Businesses asked to help with broadband survey
Sea Space, Hastings Borough Council and business community partners are conducting research into businesses’ current broadband use and anticipated future requirements. The results will help local authorities and internet providers to plan improved services to meet demand.

Heringtons move into One Priory Square
Hastings’ Priory Quarter business district has welcomed its latest office tenant: Heringtons Solicitors. Heringtons are the first business to take space on the new flexible terms on offer.
Heringtons are an East Sussex law firm, with offices in Eastbourne, Battle and Rye. They have particular expertise in supporting both individuals and small and medium enterprises and owner-managed firms, providing a comprehensive legal service built on local knowledge and professional expertise.
One Priory Square stands in a new public space as an imposing, six-floor contemporary building, next to the Lacuna Place offices in Priory Quarter in Hastings town centre. Enviro21 units to emit 42% less CO2 than typical business premises
Engineering consultants have forecast that business units on the South Queensway Enviro21 Park in Hastings, East Sussex, will have significantly lower CO2 emissions than standard buildings.

SEEDA provides £8m to help South East businesses go green
The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) has allocated £3.8m to green businesses throughout the region and established a £4m sustainability loan fund.
The £3.8m will fund 2,500 businesses to develop initiatives within a framework of six sustainability-led projects. The projects focus primarily on waste reduction, sustainable procurement and the development of sustainable technologies. Qualifying businesses will undergo training and environmental audits in order to establish methods that boost profits through energy reduction.

Wind farm to produce jobs boost
The government has announced a massive expansion in renewable energy around Britain’s coast – and East Sussex is set to be one of the major beneficiaries.
The Crown Estate – which owns the country’s sea bed – has awarded the licence to energy company E.ON to develop an offshore wind farm on Hastings Bank, off the East Sussex coast.

National Grid Gas Awards £3 Million Contract to Drallim
National Grid Gas has awarded St Leonards company Drallim Industries the contract for the manufacture of 966 Slamshut Cabinets for their countrywide replacement programme. The contract has a duration of seven years with a value of £3 million.

Free Manufacturing Review for South East Manufacturers
Manufacturing companies in the South East will be entitled to a free manufacturing review following a visit to the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) South East stand at Southern Manufacturing exhibition at FIVE in Farnborough, Hampshire on 10 and 11 February.
The MAS South East team will be on-hand at Stand J15 to discuss the practical support available, including an initial free review of shopfloor processes and overall layout in order to find bottom line benefits.
