A Slice of F-ISH at One Priory Square

One Priory Square, the latest addition to Hastings’ new Priory Quarter business district, is receiving an artistic boost. The top spec offices are the first recipient of art under the Special Loan Scheme organised by F-ISH gallery, run by ex-Saatchi curator Simon Hedges.

Large Multi-Canvas Oil Painting by Peter Waldron

The loan includes work from several internationally renowned local artists. the three commissioned elements of local artist Malcolm Glover’s Solo show held at F-ISH Gallery in April 2009, along with pieces from Peter Waldron, Bea Lacey and Martin Everett.

F-ISH is based at the nearby Creative Media Centre in the America Ground area of Hastings, where Hedges came up with the scheme to promote exchange between commerce and culture. Simon Hedges comments:

“I think it’s important to create a platform for artistic expression, enabling artists of every culture and discipline to create and present new work in an environment committed to best professional practice.”

Abigail Gilbert, Communications Officer for Sea Space says:

“It’s a great idea and we’re pleased to be showing the work of local artists . The work adds another dimension to the offices and is sure to be a talking point with potential occupiers when we show them around.”
