Projects - Lacuna Place
Lacuna Place has been built to provide flexible, contemporary, high-quality business premises in Hastings town centre. It was created on the empty space of land between buildings at the top of Havelock Road which was known as the 'Gap Site' as it had been empty and overgrown for over a decade.
The building's name comes from 'lacuna', which is Latin for 'gap'.
Reasons For Development
Lacuna Place, on Havelock Road, provides space for up to 200 employees to work. There will be additional premises (One Priory Square) on the Priory Street side, with a walkway between the two roads.
The scheme will enable local firms to expand and will help attract companies to the area, creating jobs. At the moment, businesses tell us there is a severe lack of decent premises in the town.
More people working here will also make this part of the town more lively, supporting shops, cafes and restaurants. The buildings will dramatically improve the two streets, which should encourage private companies to invest.
