Projects - West Marina
The West Marina scheme is proposed as part of Hastings Millennium Community. It would include up to 175 homes, business premises and visitor amenities designed to create a lively seafront community.
Reasons For Development
The proposed site is currently under-used and derelict land between Seaside Road and the seafront in the area known as the old Bathing Pool site. The exact extent of the scheme will be determined by the West Marina and Bulverhythe master plan which Hastings Borough Council is carrying out. As well as linking in with the Seafront Strategy, the scheme will take into account transportation and flood defence issues and other potential developments, including Hasting Borough Council's plans for a slip-way - an access ramp for small boats leading to the water.
Further Information
The local community will also be fully consulted on the redevelopment of West Marina. An exhibition of proposals was held by Hastings Borough Council in March 2007.
